All these people are dead, too.

And not just recently dead, but long dead. And all the people involved in the explosion of double bass repertoire in the twentieth century are still alive. (Last I checked, anyway.)

If I understand correctly, the survey is meant to be completed by violinists, violists, cellists and double bassists (not necessarily professionals, but people who have at least started learning the instruments).

There are news groups and forums specifically for performers.  I think the OP chose poorly, unless we are like one of 40 that he posted on!
