Happy thanksgiving everyone!  Especially Brian, hope that you're not feeling out of place or alone today (since you're in London and not with family).

Aw, thanks. It's turning out to be a very good Thanksgiving; my aunt Jean sent me her legendary pumpkin cookies, this morning I had a "turkey cranberry and brie" sandwich (odd...), and my contribution to the Drunksgiving celebrations tonight is homemade guacamole. You can tell you're in the wrong country when you're making guacamole for Thanksgiving.  ;D

Have a great holiday, folks!  :)

Same to you, Brian. Long way from home, but you've clearly made the best of it. Any sandwich featuring brie has to be great!

And Happy Thanksgiving to all, both stateside and otherwise. I am grateful to the founders of this country who established an ideal, and to the millions who have given their lives so that I can make the most out of mine.

I had the most hilarious, wild, epic Thanksgiving. I'm going to be talking about it (and plotting sitcom plots about it) for years to come. Writing a blog post... in the meantime enjoy this teaser:

Flatmate: What the f*** is this?
His girlfriend: Fresh rosemary.
Flatmate: Oh, I thought I was going to smoke it later.

Is there such a thing as Beijing Christmas goose? One imagines there should be....

Christmas coincides with Quail season.  ;)

Yes, I've heard of the famous Christmas quail. However, since we're larger than mice we might seek out something which coincides, larger than quail but smaller than ostrich. Swan might be just the thing, but if one went missing from Spy Pond the locals would get peeved.

And here's to hoping there are no stampede trampling deaths on Black Friday, seriously!  :o

Happy Thanksgiving is right!

And a pox of chickens on any sportscaster or wiseguy who insists on saying "Turkey Day" instead!

I'm spending the day 100% sportscaster-free! The only turkey to-day is in the roasting pan!

Wish all (who celebrate, of course) a wonderful Thanksgiving day! :)

We were visiting our son last week and had our Thanksgiving Dinner a week ago this Friday - the classic dishes that my wife use to make him years ago - and he did a great job on the turkey!

Today for us - sharing a pheasant w/ some light sides & a bottle of sparkling wine -  :D

Oh, that day!

OK, I will try to find the largest chicken I can find in China and pretend it's a turkey.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
