Eating lots of chocolate while listening to The Nutcracker is a really unpleasant experience :'(

Earlier I made road roast ham, pre-soaked and boiled with vegetables, cider, and all that malarkey. It is large enough to last six people for three days of side-dishes alongside the Christmas dinners tomorrow and the day after. For once the flavours infused properly, as I was extra careful to remove as much salt as I could from the joint this time after a few mediocre previous attempts.
Peanut butter, flour and sugar do not make cookies. They make FIRE.

Happy Christmas everyone. The day has just arrived here; heralded in by the Widor Gloria in this house.

Last night in Beijing, Kimi experienced her very first Christmas. First of all, the dinner was a success! Then, Santa came (potly friend dressed up as Santa) and distributed the presents. Kimi was happy that she received the most presents. She was reluctant to allow Santa to leave and kept asking him when he will be back and requested that Santa come often to visit. This morning she asked if I knew Santa's birthday. She wanted to throw a big birthday party on Santa's birthday. I guess this way she'd get more presents than the birthday person. This little girl has brains!

It is all very christmasy up here in the northern Europe, lots of snow and all trees covered with wonderful, thick frost. Also very cold, -25 C at the moment in my town, and every lake, also every bach iced over.

I envy you. Here in Athens, although it snowed for a couple of days two weeks ago, we're back in autumn; very pleasant 17 degrees Celsius, windy and light clouds. Most of the trees are just now shedding their leaves. It's like New York in October.

Merry christmas everyone !!!  :D

Charming!

With Christmas falling on a Saturday, I had yesterday off from the day-job. Mom and I were up at 7 to get the stuffing going; we had the turkey stuffed and into the oven by half past 9.  It's an 11-lb bird, and was done a bit past 2.  Just in time for me to head out for my only outside commitment, subbing in a choir for a[n unusually early] Christmas Eve service in the Back Bay.  We three were back home to enjoy a nice turkey dinner with ye trimmings, and then watched the traditional Alastair Sim version of A Christmas Carol (1951).

Deliciously late morning, and a white Christmas (snow which had fallen perhaps 4-5 days ago).

Bah humbug!  >:D :D  That can't be possible!  ???

Enjoying Christmas morning and had a wonderful Christmas Eve as well.  Sipping some nice cinnamon spiced tea whist listening to my new Christmas gift copy of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier (Walter Gieseking) with my new large comfy headphones (also a gift).  Very nice!!  8)

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you!   :)

Earlier I made road roast ham . . . .

Before the emendation . . . I was wondering, for I haven't seen Road Ham on any menu outside the Ozarks ; )

Happy Christmas, y'all!  Older boy is home, we're discussing the epidemic of bad industrial design and the origins of Christianity while noshing on sushi and dark chocolate covered apricots.  Tamales tonight!  Younger boy here tomorrow.  Alexander String Quartet playing Beethoven on the main hi fi system.  Everyone's happy--even the cat, who found a new bed just to her liking made from wrapping paper thrown into a box!

Cheers and may God bless each and every one of you!

Here in Beijing, it is already the day after Christmas.

Or, as the British would call it: Boxing Day.

Or, as a Chinese communist old timer would say: Chairman Mao's Birthday.

Or, as Kimi would say: The Mommy and Daddy Both at Home Day

Kimi's got it pegged, Paul!

HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON

First time in decades in the Piedmont Triad, snow is on the ground on Christmas Day!   :o

But, we're inside warm & cozy - Susan is roasting a pheasant for an early evening dinner and we'll share a bottle of a California sparkler that was well reviewed and a bargain!  ;D

@Florestan Have realized Romania/Bucuresti is in Street View?
I'm aware of that but haven't had the curiosity to look at it. I'll give it a try just to see if it's really as good as they claim it is. :D
