When I read the program of today's Digital Conzert Hall: Tschaikovsky's Piano Concert No. 1, the thought of "Not that one again!" This war horse, the appearance in classical concerts stubbornly holds it's place. But of course I watched it again. Neeme Järvi conducted the Berlin Symphonikers with Arkadi Volodos the pianist. Of the many versions I have heard and in my collection, Mikhail Pletnev's was at the top, yet whenever I heard or watched another pianist, I was tempted to rearrange my pyramid.

Today's was no exception. Volodos exposes a lot of tenderness, emotion, I have not noticed by other soloists. Of course having the image of an entire orchestra, a great conductor, and the pianist on my monitor, does influence, can't help being impressed by the visual image of the cellist, the second violinist, the hornist, et al, those members of the orchestra I am more or less familiar with. But Volodov reigned - today.

Am I the only one here watching this fabulous new internet program?

I have no idea where you live, but why not go to a concert hall sometime?

Driving over two high mountain passes and then fighting metropolitan street traffic is a big deterrent. Of course airplane and taxi eliminates those hazards; I use them once a year for a visit to an opera house!

I was sure you knew where I live, but never mind, you forgot, it was long ago. -
Since you are concerned about my visits to classical music venues, I'll gladly accept contributions to my financial well-being: An attendance at the nearest concert hall/opera will set me back $500.00!   :o

Dear Kaergaard,
I was so lucky to attend to the concert, last saturday evening!
As you say, and overcoming my prejudices, could enjoy a new and refreshing new lecture of the partiture. It was superb! Tenderness, emotions, giving also a great importane to the darkest passages of the work ...

I would like to ask you if you have been anle to know whose composer belongs the extra piece that Maestro Volodos played after the concert. I was asking to the people attending the concert and even to one of the members of the orchestra, but anyone new.

My best,
Javier
