I had Philips vinyl of the Krips recordings of the Mozart symphonies with the Concertgebouw which I remember as being very good.

Yes, these Philips Krips Mozart disks audiophile delights, for sure.  If one is searching for solo piano, I find Wilkie's Backhaus for Decca to be phenomenal.  King Super Analogue released a few on 180g vinyl (cut & pressed at RTI) during the 90's/00's.  Also available on London Stereo Treasury Series (STS) for cheap.  Solo piano on DG /generally/ doesn't cut it for me.  'Opaque' is the word.  I am presently considering buying some Kubelik Mahler symphonies released by Audite on heavyweight Pallas-pressed vinyl.  I am really digging this conductor lately.

Go to Ebay-music-records-classical music. There are hundreds of vinyls on action or for sale.
Some extremely rare stuff, never published on CD. From 1,99 to 700 or more.
EBay's a ripoff.

For the past three or four years I have been buying great classical music LPs at a charity shop in Montreal. One of my last purchases was the Emperor Concerto, Kempff, Leitner BPO, DG. Very good condition. Fifty cents. Top that, EBay!

Only if you don't know what you're buying. I've purchased hundreds of recordings, instruments, books, and other merchandise from ebay with more than satisfactory results.

Most medium to large cities have treasures hidden away somewhere. Salvation Army, charity shops, places like that.
I remember a great little record shop in Paris, tucked away near the Bastille, that had hundreds of YéYé and other obscure French records from the 50s and 60s, among others. That was just their Pop section. Sometimes it pays to shop around (to paraphrase Smokey Robinson).

To analogue is human. To digital is robotic.

Definitely true. I've found some great buys in a local Goodwill shop that I check out every few months or so.
