I have the Kremerata on DG, with great discmates. It is available on some Schnittke discs also. Try the DG.

Seconded. Lovely performance.

I've got three versions: Domus, Pro Arte, and Eschenbach with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra. I'm happy with all of them but my favorite is the Eschenbach. It's coupled with the Sixth Symphony, one of the best versions (a "hyper-romantic" reading, "heavily interventionist, joining Bernstein's physicality to Karajan's and Sinopoli's sensuality"--ClassicsToday).

Sarge
the phone rings and somebody says,
"hey, they made a movie about
Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

I have this, which I love:

Incidentally I was drawn to this work after seeing that excellent Martin Scorsese film  Shutter Island........... yet another reason to go to the movies  :D!

Mahler should have wrote some chamber music. The quartet is ok but you can see its an immature work.

"Seconded" means that I am adding a second vote in favor of that recording, not that the recording is my second choice. It is in fact my first choice, but  there are some I haven't heard. That Eschenbach disc Sarge is recommending looks interesting as well, but I haven't heard it myself.

I remember being present at the recording of both and enjoying both of the works on the Philadelphia disc.
