Shrunk

Hello, everyone.

I'm not a new member, but I've been away for a while (Sometimes you need stop talking about music, and just listen to it).  Anyway, I'm back.  Good to see many of the familiar faces still around.

Listen. Always.

Welcome back.

Hi Shrunk, welcome back! Totally agree: listening comes first. Talking about it, second.

Welcome back! I had a long leave of absence, too... Quite refreshing.

Hello, shrunk--welcome back!  Hear anything good recently you'd like to share with us?

Hmm. I've recently been kind of filling in gaps in my knowledge in both the earliest and most recent periods of music.  I've just become aware of Tomás Luis de Victoria.  I'm also enjoying dipping into Boulez' complete Webern box.  It's like musical Haiku.

Don't know Victoria at all and you remind me that I should dip into Boulez's Webern, too--thanks!

Don't know Victoria at all . . . .

Really, Dave? Never heard the Nativity motet, O magnum mysterium? That's nigh unto a Top 40 a cappella choral hit : )

I still remember, as if it had been yesterday, the first time I sang that, with my high school chorus in 10th grade . . . .
