I'm sorry, dude. No, really: I'm sorry. I didn't know that was hidden, since it was floating around in my brain anyway. People here have known I worked there owing to my varied allusions about my employment there since 2007, and I've never experienced any kind of negative blowback or condescension or attacks because of it.

If it's any consolation, I don't know what you actually do. For all we know you could be the eye doctor...  8)

It's okay Brian. I accept your apology. Walmart is really the only place in my town for me to work. Since everything is "out of the bag" so to speak, I trained at technical school to be a computer technician, but by the time I got through, there were hardly, if any, jobs available, and who was going to hire someone with no experience as a computer technician anyway? Anyway, I don't mind working at Walmart, it's a job. I'm trying to work my up into management of some kind. It maybe a long process, but I see myself going somewhere with this company and if not, I still have a pretty decent job. The pay is okay, but nothing like I would make as a computer technician of course.

It's never happened, though I consider that more to her credit than to mine.
lol, if you really analyze this line here, you can see that Karl deserves some credit for this.  :D Actually, I can't imagine anyone being angry with Karl other than a couple of the nutjob posters we've seen here.

It's a living. Well, not really, because pay is poverty-level. But it's almost a living.  ;D
It's a living. In your car.  :D

I should have thought you like living in your car...  ;D :P

I just sent an application into the Dominos where my friend used to work. They very likely have positions open, and I have a perfect driving record.
That type of job shouldn't be too bad because most of the time, you are basically in your car, listening to music, which can be relaxing and fun.

Re: the debate between MI and pretty much all other posters.

"Under democracy one party always devotes its chief energies to trying to prove that the other party is unfit to rule - and both commonly succeed, and are right" - H. L. Mencken

"It makes no difference who you vote for - the two parties are really one party representing four percent of the people" - Gore Vidal

"Perhaps the fact that we have seen millions voting themselves into complete dependence on a tyrant has made our generation understand that to choose one's government is not necessarily to secure freedom" - F. A. von Hayek

"Vote: The only commodity that is peddleable without a license" - Mark Twain.

"Vote: the instrument and symbol of a freeman's power to make a fool of himself and a wreck of his country." - A. Bierce

Nah. But I swear, I sometimes wonder if my friend liked it when he was living in his car. When I first met him, he was doing that and said it was "fun."  ??? Now he has a small apartment, though.
There's another guy I work with who was living in his car (I don't know if he does now, though). That's what no college + child support gets you. And that's why I always take my friend seriously when he says to never, ever, even touch a girl and to go to college as soon as possible.

Once MI mentioned that he did not appreciate the disclosure of where he worked, I see it was then quoted, re-quoted, mentioned and referred to. I have removed as many references to the place as I noticed. We need to try to respect one another's wishes and privacy.

When I saw it, I though that I would be amending two posts, it just went on and on...and ON.

Jesus, David, you seem to swallow every right wing talking point whole no matter how rancid.
Hmmm...I continue to be surprised by your knee-jerk partisan reactions, for in many other respects you appear to be a relatively rational and considerate person, one whom I would expect to give fair and open-minded consideration to diverse points of view instead of dismissing them with off-target ad hominem attacks.  NPR's bias is blatant, whether you are willing to examine it objectively or not.  Recent scandals have demonstrated that NPR deserves public funding no more than FoxNews or MSNBC.

PBS still does a commendable job of responsible journalism in most of its programming.  It's a pity that PBS may suffer collateral damage as a result of NPR going off the deep end.

It's okay Knight. I appreciate your concern but Brian apologized and I accepted his apology. Perhaps he didn't know at the time I didn't want to disclose my workplace? It's perfectly fine and now I can see my own comments to him were a bit over-the-top, but all is forgiven.
