Borders files for bankruptcy protection

Interesting. I got a "Store Closing" email for one of the two Long Island stores that are closing, but no 33% off coupon. However, I did visit the other LI store (closer to me) that was closing, and already everything was at least 20% off - and the checkout line must have been 30 deep. You'd think it was a week before Xmas.

Looking at the e-mail, it mentions "teachers."  I think I may have gotten it because I'm flagged as a teacher in their database.  Works on-line through Monday  BHL5794Y

I also have an item I ordered with a coupon and "borders bucks" that is on backorder, and I got a notice that they are still planning to send it, even though it is slated to be shipped to the store that is closing.

The Back Bay store on Boylston Avenue is closing.  A friend of mine works at that one, wonder what is happening by him.
