Have to login twice??!?

When I connedt to GMG Forums I'm apparently logged in automatically because it says "Hello Feanor" and my avatar appears.  However when I click 'Show new replies to your posts', it asks me to supply my ID and password.  :-X This didn't used to be the case and is pretty annoying.  What's to be done?

Thank you!  :)   I have modified my displayed name slightly.  I'll see how that works out; if necessary I'll our admin to change my username.
