"Unsung Composers"-for voicing my anger regarding a change in the forum's policy that bans discussion of all "non-romantic" composers to suit the moderators' own personal tastes ::) >:(

What a weird decision. How popular is a forum of unsung composers in the first place to be able to scare away people who like more than one time period?

I'll say! Most members were against the decision, but it all came down to the moderators' personal tastes in the end. ::) That's what I like about GMG. The moderators here don't set themselves on a high horse and control the forum based on their views. :)

BTW the membership at "Unsung Composers" dropped steeply after the "change". Small wonder! ::)

I've read through that forum before; seemed to be a neat forum. Unfortunate that this happened to it.

That's completely absurd and borderline Nazism for any forum to ban any discussion of a composer's music, especially of composers that don't appease the moderators' own tastes. I would have voiced an outraged opinion, too.

I didn't like the decision myself (and find the forum mainly irrelevant now) - but why do you all seem to assume that anyone setting up a forum, and devoting time and money to it, cannot decide what the forums focus should be?

One of these days I'm going to get thrown out of this forum for being too Wagnerian.

I suppose that's better than being too Schnittkian. ;) :D
