Downloadable scores

Maciek:
I think a sticky like this would be helpful.

Please note that my intention is for this to be a sort of "directory thread", listing all the resources we know (I want to prevent this thread from growing too long and thus unusable). If you have a question to ask (like "where do I find the score to Tchaikovsky's Fatum?") or if you want to mention the fact that one of the sites has been updated go to the Where to download specific scores thread. If, however, you know of a free on-line score resource that is not listed here - post away!

The above website has many free scores and sheet music.

IMSLP is probably the biggest resource on the web for free music, and growing constantly. We're keeping an eye on it over here.

VARIATIONS

--- Quote from: Larry Rinkel http://www.good-music-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,10586.msg315866.html#msg315866 ---Also invaluable, though the choice of items to include is sometimes as puzzling as the choice of items to exclude:

BMIC

--- Quote from: lukeottevanger http://www.good-music-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,10586.msg315861.html#msg315861 ---The other site I return to often is the BMIC's collection, which has an enormous number of free PDFs of contemporary British music.

I think the site Luke must have meant is this:

karlhenning:
Maciek, you are the man!

Maciek:
Thank you, Karl. 0:)

greg:
add this one, too:

http://notes.tarakanov.net/composers/p.htm

this site is nearly as good as the IMSLP in some ways. It has good scores of Prokofiev, Schnittke (lots of him), Stravinsky, etc.

Black Knight:
www.sheetmusicfox.com

and

www.sheetmusicarchive.net (you can only download two files a day, but that's not something a quick cookie delete can't fix)
