What language was Kimi speaking???

Kimi has been watching some DVDs, some with languages other than Chinese or English in it. Lately she has been reciting what sounded like a poem or something. It sounded like German but I don't know what it says.

It sounded something like this:

Laiza peter de laiza...

Steener peter de steener...

What language cound that be and what does it mean? Anyone has a clue?

I put it into Google translate and it was autodetected as French and it says the translation is "Laiza peter laisa"

"Laiza Peter de Laiza" could have been "Leiser Peter etc." I.e. someone either exhorting Peter to be quieter, or describing someone as "the quiet Peter" in German. Can't really make sense of the other one, though.

She also spoke some Spanish which I understood, a little French which I mostly understood, and lots of Japanese which I understood none. I love the way she enjoy speaking different languages as if it is the most natural thing in the world, even if no one understood her.

So I guessed right!

I will try to listen again and see if I can phonetically type out the entire poem.

Last week she also song a song in Spanish. I go that one. It is the Spanish version of "Where is Thumbkin... here I am ... how are you this morning ... very well I thank you ... run and play..."

Just to think I was supposed to teach her!

I think I have figured out the two key lines:

Quiet Peter be quiet
Still Peter be still

So it is a chilren's poem, a mother speaking to her child to calm him/her down.
