I just love the first song on Bocelli's album "Sogno",... it's a 'Song of the Sun' thing, but I just love the cheese.

Plus, I have a thing for horse faced Ann Coulter :o,...ok, there, I said it, your turn.

I've recently heard a Koechlin piece that I've liked... ;D

I like McDonalds/Burger King fare (although widely space out my visits).

I seem to be able to survive that process of the promise of a nice looking burger on the poster, to being served something that looks like it's been through a wind tunnel.

My significant other takes a very dim view of this preference - when we go to BK is pretty much the only time I've seen them put on a sour face.
Peanut butter, flour and sugar do not make cookies. They make FIRE.

The Edwardian feelgood soap drama Downton Abbey. I saw the first series the other day and, to my surprise, liked it.

I know you own Zinman's recording of The Jungle Book, but how many times have you listened to it? And you never answered my question as to whether you liked Impressionistic music or not?

Also, if you will visit the Koechlin thread, I have uploaded a few videos that you may enjoy, that is, if you give them a chance to begin with.

You're not very good at answering questions are you? :) You like Debussy, okay, but there are were so many other composers who wrote in and flirted with Impressionism. What about Ravel? What about Szymanowski? Are you attracted to the way this kind of music sounds?

Was your dismissal of Koechlin as "too new agey" really a good reason to stop listening to the music and not return to it anytime soon? Give the guy a chance to grow on you! :D

Well you know I love Ravel and Szymanowski! :)

To be honest, I don't know what you like, because you've never really made that clear. How old are you by the way?

MI, I don't think this sort of aggressive proselytizing is going to endear you (or Koechlin) to anyone. If someone isn't into it, it's the music, not you they dislike (or are lukewarm towards).

Indeed, can't even escape five Koechlin posts per hour in the Diner.   ::)

I know, I know. I just wanted Dave to give him another chance.

Another guilty pleasure: drifting off back to sleep when I could just as well get up and start the day. :D

Country music - especially from the 1950s-'60s

:D

No need to feel guilty. That's one of my pleasures too. Besides the music itself I have early personal memories of 50s country music. My father was a friend of George Morgan (father of Lorrie) in high school. An aunt was his cousin. George's wife, Lorrie's mother, was a high school nemesis of my mother (she has some funny stories about their relationship). His biggest hit, Candy Kisses, was released the year I was born.  My first girlfriend (we were six) always had the country station tuned in. I have some pleasant if dirty associations with the music in that context. Okay, maybe it is a guilty pleasure  ;D
