Of course, the announcement was made almost a month ago, but now we have just found out that Winnipeg's first home game of the regular season in October will be none other than the Montreal Canadiens!

Should be exciting, however, half of the fans will be rooting for the Habs!  :D

Awesome pictures!!  Dale Hawerchuk was always my favorite Jet.  The Finnish Flash, Teemu Selanne, was a very close second.  What a year he had in his rookie season (76 goals), smashing Mike Bossy's previous rookie goal scoring record.

The Six

Nice jerseys, but the logo ain't so great. If they stay the Jets they'll need a big upgrade, for sure. However there seems to be a lot of doubt that they'll be the Jets, and will instead choose a new name.

Well, I agree.  They could use a new logo.  I can almost guarantee they will be called the Jets.  They may, however, decide to call them the Manitoba Jets, which is totally fine by me.  Just call them the Jets.

If they call them anything else, most of the fans will still be cheering 'Go Jets Go' at the home games and wearing Jets jerseys for many years to come.   :D

Well, the official return of the NHL to Winnipeg has just had another official announcement.  They will once again be called the Winnipeg Jets, much due to the overwhelming support and outcry from the fans of the Province of Manitoba.  I think deep down, the owners really did want to go into a new direction and call the team a new name........but in the end they listened to the fans, and the fans (vast majority) won big!

Go Jets Go!

Now that this issue is put to rest, I'm back to being Mr. ChamberNut.  :D
