The music collection.
The hi-fi system: Esoteric X-03SE -> Pathos Logos -> Analysis Audio Amphitryon.

Don't think that's it. The actual box doesn't match that title "Philips 50" at all.  It says "Original Jackets Collection" and mentions 55 albums.

THIS looks like what you're after:

That one looks much more like it indeed! I noticed the discrepancy in number of albums, and imagined the box was a packaging of the Philips 50 collection, given the name on amazon.it.

That's an unusual selection. There are a few of the usual suspects in there, but a lot of recordings I don't recognize.

Can't beat the price, though.

It's certainly not the Philips '50' collection as there is no Richter: Sofia Recital.

Another big box that tries to do it all and fails miserably. Fine for a beginner though.

You didn't look very closely at that list... Tippett for a beginner? Il Corsaro? Hummel? Mendelssohn's Elias?

This looks more like the Decca Sound box that was just really good recordings and performances, regardless of their popularity.

It is indeed comparable to the Decca sound box. I own both and the duplications with single discs are minimal for me.
Philips has a more mainstream works and not that much 20th century, while the Decca sleeves are somewhat more succesful. Sound is again superb, and the cd timings are very generous (lots > 80 min.  :o )
For less than 80 euros, it is superb value for the money!

I am also tempted by the DG Mozart 111 boxset, although I own about 1/3 of those recordings, which is probably too much, so I will let that one pass.
I am sure we will see more of this format in the future.
