Don't own these but they are on my wishlist and their covers add to their temptation:

This is an excellent recording (and I agree, the cover is great).  In a few weeks, I'm hearing an entire evening of Hakola's music -- fascinating composer that I just discovered last year.

I like the covers of Naïve's Vivaldi Edition too, very "chic". A bit different from the usual classical cd covers (with ugly old folks or famous paintings  :P). The photographer is Denis Rouvre, I found his website: http://www.rouvre.com/

Maciek

Yes, but some of them are a bit, well, you know... weird...

???

(the music is great though, as I have this one)

I like it, rather funny cover, but then again I like weirdness.  :o

Reminds me of the Westminster Gold lps

Can't tell from this, but the airbrushing job left a little, uh, hair.

Oh, man! Thanks so much for those! They made me cry! Nothing on the old "worst CD covers" thread ever did - and some of those were hilarious! But this just beats everything (along with your comment, of course)! LOL!

:D ;D :D ;D :)

Maciek

Sorry for double post. Have to add this: I just absolutely have to get that Holst!!! 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Egebedieff, ok those are just awful.   ;D

This one is the best:   ;D

My how Jean-Pierre (and his instrument) has changed.

What, you mean you can actually see his instrument there (it's very dark on my computer)? ;)

Obviously it's time I started getting interested in musicals... ;D

Thanks for the recommendation on the recording! It's now very tempting... ;D

And do report back on the Hakola concert, what's the program?

Just realized the harpsichord on this one is rather strange-looking too. Is that what they call an "upright"?

Symphonien

Close enough! I mean, flute and bassoon are both woodwinds, cello and harpsichord both have strings don't they? I can see how one could easily get confused...

Varg

I like Pettersson's covers on CPO.

I'm starting a new thread on him, and will post it there!
