Hey there boyz and girlz, Im SherKhan, and I am saying hi to all of you to have an excuse to post a problem with the forums ive had and I have no clue where else to post.

The other day I made a topic asking about a classical piano piece used in an anime series called B gata H Kei (romantic comedy. quite fun and defenitly advisable) but when I returned today to see if anyone had replied I noticed that my topic wasnt there anymore...wht has happened to it?

Anyways, nice to meet y'all etc etc

There was only one reply there, it said that when the person tried to view the video, they got a message that it was copyrighted material and wouldn't play in his country. We also got some complaints from others who had the same experience. I, myself, was unable to view the video for that same reason.

It is against the rules of the forum to post copyrighted material. In addition to which, what point to post it if many/most cannot view it anyway? Probably it is not a problem where you live, and maybe then you were not aware.  If you have any further questions about it, you can message any moderator simply by clicking "Report this post" at the bottom of the post.

Thanks,

Your post was reported on account of the inappropriate content of the posted clip.

Since I didn't get blocked on copyright issues, I had a chance to check. Let's say that the description of the clip as "Romantic comedy" is only part of the story.... ::) I therefore removed it.

lolmate, you make it sound like it was pornographical content, but you do realise that youtube is quite strict about that kinda stuff? and this clip was from youtube. I think the problem here is that people that arent familiar with anime think that sexual actions taken in an anime automatically means some kinda porn, but you gotta see it like for example game of thrones. THere is lots of nudity in there, tho everyone understands that aint pornographical

Uhmm, we'r not exactly prudish around here but for imagery of an explicit sexual nature - maybe not porn, but it was certainly more than "just" nudity - there are other places on the internet.

No hard feelings and welcome to the forum. 8)

PS It seems that the music in animes is never "real" Classical but recreations in some concocted Classical style, as was the case here.

SherKhan

so, you re telling me that I was interested in a piano piece I would here in an episode of game of thrones that wouldnt be allowed as well?

Karl Henning

Of course, that is not at all what you're being told. Your musical interests are allowed without restriction, of course.  Posting copyrighted material is not. Clear, I think, yes?

well, its not restricted in my country, so ye...its just that I got the impresssion that people were thinking of it as adult content, but ye, I guess ill try to transcribe some notes then, tho that ll obviously be less accurate

Karl Henning

Or if you can isolate the music to a short excerptable selection, perhaps. (The mods will know better how to bring things into compliance.)

Perhaps you had the answer to your own question all along. In the Wikipedia link you posted, it says "The opening theme song for the series was "Oshiete A to Z" (おしえて A to Z?) and its ending theme was "Hadashi no Princess" (裸足のプリンセス?). Both theme songs are performed by Yukari Tamura,[10] and a maxi single containing the two themes was released on April 28, 2010."

If it's another piece your asking about, it was likely music specifically written for the production (as was mentioned earlier).

ah, it was a specfic tune that was used somewhere in the middle of an episode and im about 90% sure its some classical piece, probably late 19th century. When I let it hear to my guitar teacher he suggested it might be something from faulé or ravel, but that hasnt gotten me further...ill try to transribe the thing into FL or something (prudish old people -.-) ;)

Before you do that, you may want check whether or not it's Pavane, by Fauré; not to be confused with Pavane pour une infante défunte (Pavane for a dead princess) by Ravel, of course.

I saw the clip. It wasn't either composer's Pavane. It sounded like Satie but I was rushed and didn't have time to confirm whether it was actually a Satie piece or an imitation.
