Yes!     As I just zoomed up the street by our favorite seafood restaurant on my way to Dunkin' Donuts, I passed through the Tufts University campus where some beautiful ancient pine trees were uprooted on the hill.

Well I miss lobster and donuts... though I prefer Krispy Kremes.   I don't miss the crazy traffic!

It's kind of silly.  Despite sensationalism isn't it cool to have a constant flood of information when these things happen?

I heard a similar opinion on NPR.  Given what happened in Katrina, erring on the side of caution this time was sensible for local and state governments.

Cool! Time for coffee and donuts before work! I was concerned because I think that's the same cab company that won't come to my house because the software they use for directions says the street I've lived on for 50 years doesn't exist.

     You should use the Hugh Everett Taxi. They have the Many Worlds software which maps all alternatives. In one version my street doesn't exist but I do. In another one my street is there but I'm nine years old.  My favorite one is where I'm me, my street exists but the taxi is a limo which takes me to the underground headquarters of my weather control center. At the press of a button I can make the hurricane disappear. If I do, however, an asteroid wipes out the dinosaurs 65 million years ago, which seems harsh.

Yes, we visited New Orleans last month and even though Katrina hit six years ago, much of the ninth ward still looks like this.

Fats Domino's house in the same area survived. Fats got out of town before Katrina hit, but his neighbors didn't know and thought he might have drowned.

A lot of re-building has been done. Ellis Marsalis built this center for displaced musicians right down the street from the first picture.

This was the intelligence given us on Wednesday, and subsequent events have borne it out. Northern New Jersey, and Vermont, are both within the "Potential for extreme impacts" zone; Connecticut as well, though one could perhaps argue that the impact there has been rough, but not extreme . . . but then, there's the necessary qualification: Depends on exact track and intensity.

This court finds for the defense.
