Quote from: Iota on December 30, 2024, 10:14:19 AMI feel kind of sorry for MI/Vox Maris, there's clearly something he wants and isn't getting from this site, and he hasn't figured his way round it yet. He seems to really want to be here though. As I understand it he's still relatively young (40s?) so plenty of time to figure it out I guess.
I suspect that he is trying to figure out many things in his life--as we all are doing or various things that we've gone through in life--like living arrangements, duties, how to contribute to society, finding a way to enjoy the things that you love in life, etc.  We all have our struggles.  I wish him all the best.

Yes indeed, as do I.

"I am here" is always true whenever and wherever I say it, and yet I could have been somewhere else.

Sure he has. We were all sure of it he would. He is passionate in his urge to go, and to come back ;D  ;D  ;D

It's happens so often that it's hardly worth mentioning.

Well, as one of the few classical guitar listeners and contributors to the thread, it is disappointing for me. I'll be an echo chamber now.

Sorry, when it comes to composers like Albéniz and Granados I'm sticking to the original piano versions, even if the transcriptions are more popular out in the wider world.  >:D

Nothing wrong with an echo chamber - see the threads I tend to post in that deal with the contemporary - me, me, and me.

I want thank you both for these posts. They meant a great deal to me and it's gratifying to know that there are actually people out there that care about someone else's own well-being. I think if more people where like the both of you, then this world would be in much better shape. A little kindness goes a long way.

I appreciate your kind words.  I am far from perfect, but am trying to be better.  Life is short.

All the best,

Thank you and, yes, life is indeed too short. I also want to an extend a sorry in your direction for our past transgressions. I hope we can find a way forward in this darkness.

Well, there are likely many more 'classical guitar' fans here than you imagine - we just don't report in much -  ;D  I've been collecting the genre since the 1970s - don't have a large collection - my most recent addition is the 2-CD compilation of Christopher Parkening below to add to my older CDs of his recordings.

Decades ago, Parkening occasionally visited my hometown of Winston Salem, NC to give guitar workshops to students at the NC School of the Arts and perform at local concerts (saw him at least 3 times back then); also, there is a Piedmont Guitar Society that we attended back then.  SO, we are here maybe just not too vocal!  Dave

And do stay here, John. You won't find a more relaxed and friendlier environment anywhere else, nor people more ready and willing to forgive and forget.
