Quote from: vers la flamme on March 23, 2025, 04:44:58 AMPleasantly surprised to see that my hiatus from the forum was noted, that's kind of you. I've been quite busy with school unfortunately and have not had the time I once had for internet forums, but classical music remains a big part of my life. I've missed several of the posters here dearly, including you!

Great to hear from you. I hope all is going great for you in school! 🙂

I also hope that school is going well for you! I'm glad you've still been able to enjoy music.

Not as much time or money for live music unfortunately, and my CD collecting has trickled to a halt, but I still listen to what I have, every day.

Hope that your studies are going well.   :)

Welcome back!

Thank you, John! And I hope you really stay with us this time and don't have the outburst to delete your account once again.  ;)
Part of the tragedy of the Palestinians is that they have essentially no international support for a good reason: they've no wealth, they've no power, so they've no rights.

Thank you, Cesar. Yes, I'm sticking around this time and I've made amends with everyone I've treated so poorly in the past. I regret everything I've said, but I'm doing my best to make things right and to look ahead to the future.

That's a very healthy attitude, John, and it shows that you're not a resentful person.

I won't delete my account, as I get how that is annoying, but consider it deleted.

If you'd like to remain in contact, my email is krdnull@gmail.com

It was a true pleasure to chat with most of you, but the negativity on here, for me, I find soul sucking, so I need a break, probably a long one.

It is a real shame if you won't be on here with your highly valued contributions. I do understand though. I hope you will indeed consider returning after a break.

O dear, always the term negativity, we are no mongrels on GMG, things go smoothly and nicely, and for a long time now. Such posts makes us all look bad!
I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

I fully concur — save, perhaps, for the profusion of great beards, the forum's participants are largely without notable faults

But on a more serious note, I confess I've never been able to comprehend those who, in a haze of vague resentments, make grand pronouncements about their decision to leave the forum. If you're unhappy — just go. The internet is vast, and there is always another corner in which to linger.

Yet again, I have probably missed something contentious. Not sorry, really. I haven't seen anything particularly negative for a while, but in 99% of cases I tend to scroll on past anyway 😅

Sad to see @hopefullytrusting withdrawing participation, but such things are inevitable in any forum.

In other news, Todd hasn't been around for a good while now. He has never really interacted with me, to be fair, but I did enjoy reading some of his music posts...

Edit: I see it now. Apologies for not following things!

If it makes you feel better, I didn't see the kerfuffle until too late and it's my job  ???  :-X

I do hope Philo (the name I know best) doesn't take too long a break. There are members who will be missed and he is one.

But there are threads I totally ignore and members I try to ignore, in preference to donning the cyberspace version of a hazmat suit.

Regarding Todd: US tax season lasts another week, and there's all the new tariffs to sort out, and if my memory is correct his job involves both. So I expect him to be away from here a bit longer. He does generally step away from the forum during the winter.

There's many people here I'm missing, since my own return after prolonged illness, but one name for now: who knows what happened to our Polish friend Maciek (forgot his nickname)?
