Karl Henning

I should give him a jingle this weekend;  I am sure I have spoken with him within that apparently looong interval :)

I noticed that "Kyjo" started the Favorite Bruckner Symphony topic.

He has not been around since before Christmas.  Anybody know why?

Don't know, Cato.  I miss the guy, even though he poo-pood on Richard Strauss' music frequently.   :D

He couldn't take the heat. He had strong opinions that created strong counter-opinions. He left when he found a more congenial forum, one more in tune with his beliefs about music. I'm not happy he left. He created many interesting threads; introduced me to music I'd not known about.

Like his thoughts or not he created discussion, which is key for a forum. We need more polls, bring him back! And if he's a Bruckner fan he should join the Bruckner 6 BC.

He's also disappeared from that forum though. I think his absence has more to do with being busy in real life, and he's likely to return eventually.

I had the distinct impression of someone who likes to talk and does not like to listen.

I do miss Opus106, though.
And Coopmv.

Coopmv is probably listening to disc no. 253 from his extensive Vivaldi collection. Maybe someday he'll come back.

Where is Sara(h?).

Why would she have left? Busy with study / work? Annoyed? Ill?

I don't miss JdP.
But I do hope he's OK.

I don't miss M Forever, either.

And I hope that Madaboutmahler hasn't gone mad and that he's OK .... and will return.

:)

I don't miss Coopmv. I think Madaboutmahler is still present.

Yeah. I miss his superb Elgar posts. :-\

He posts very regularly in the "Classical Corner" thread on the Steve Hoffman forum.  My guess is that he likes having just one single thread for all classical discussion.

I went and checked that out, I had never heard of it before. One thread for all classical discussion is hard to like, for me anyway. Reminds me of the old days on rec.classical, if you took a nap you were ten pages behind!   ???

Yes, I agree completely. I like how you at GMG are running different topics in an organized fashion. Besides, it obviously becomes a great resource over time. The drawback is if one is a compulsive buyer of music....   ???
