Where is Elgarian?!?!??!?!

I've been watching to see if he returns but no sign of anything. He disappeared for a period of time a couple years ago due to health issues. I hope that's not the case now.

Nothing to do with health reasons, he just got fed up with a discussion and left. I hope he'll return eventually.

Thanks for the update, North Star. I'm relieved to hear health is not the issue. On the other hand, that must've been some discussion if it caused him to deactivate his account.

I can perhaps understand people getting upset and leaving GMG temporarily, but I don't understand the need to deactivate one's own account in the process.

I don't know how much Elgarian is comfortable with me sharing publicly about why he left (since he certainly did not make the reasons public himself), but that discussion was not the direct cause.

Same here: I also sent a letter via e-mail, but nothing yet.

John has gone through phases, where there are bursts of energy, and then nothing for months.  One of his longest bursts was during the writing of a script about Hans Rott, for which I translated a good number of German documents about Rott for him, and advised him on the construction of the script.

But that was more than several years ago.

He was active on FB some days ago. A pity he doesn't reply however, let's just respect that.

The message is where the now popular "vapid banality" originated; it was a response to poco calling Havergal Brian the Ultimate Faker. It is gone now...at least I couldn't find it.
