This is the sister piece to 'Adieu'.  Basically a version for oboe and string quartet.

Has anyone got a comment to make about the music?

The moments of silence in the piece really create a sense of anticipation! Awesome stuff, but is there more to it?

Nice harmonic palette.  Not that it's the only tool in your kit, but I enjoy your occasional practice of a texture which is essentially chords (often pyramids) which are sustained, but rhythmically activated and ornamented.

I'm very impressed by it, as I've been impressed by everything of yours I've seen. I like your textural and formal clarity underneath the hyperdense and complex surface - it really communicates.... very Empfindsamkeit, in fact. Lovely work (and it goes without saying, superb performance too).

Plus - your blog is very interesting reading.  :)

Thank you very much for your kind words.
