Request for help with ID of a piece please

Hi all,

I remember a piece, a solo voice piece or I think maybe choral, although the single male voice featured throughout.  In the lyrics the man sang "Christoff Menuet", I believe. It was a beautiful piece of music that I seem to have sorrowfully lost track of.  I also seem to remember that it was perhaps from an eastern European country "opera?", or maybe that is just wishful thinking.   
I would be so grateful of any help if this could be recognised by someone?

That is very little to go on. Especially without a sample to listen to.

I understand it's not so much, but, I am a fool for letting this get away.

I do know though, that if anyone had heard this a couple of times it would stick with them and the male solo voice, when he sings Christoff, Menuet, would be the part of the piece that would strike out and be remembered.
