Rihm, no contest. The sheer amount of works in his catalogue and the small fraction of them that I find unappealing means a whole lot of quite enjoyable material. I haven't warmed up to Dusapin (yet).

Did you get those two (3) cds, the 'Concerto(s)' and the 'Solos'? Really, as I somewhat agree with you, you really should try those,... I found Dusapin a bit cool, but his virtuoso treatment of the orchestra is quite thrilling. Definitely Xenakis+Messiaen, though Dusapin's voice is definitely his own here.

I find Rihm the more Emotional (is that Diosysian(sic)?) and Dusapin more Intellectual (Apollonian?).


I still haven't made a Rihm purchase since I asked for advice a month ago (though it would probably be the 'Morphonie' album,... or the PC 'Sphere').
