:(

She is, but her canceling shows and not coming to London has nothing to do with this at all. I mean are you second guessing her talent?

I'm disappointed that the Cocteau Twins are no longer together, but you don't see me starting a thread about it.

So what? You could if you wanted to; and I would like you to make sure our new member feels welcomed.

I am a fan.     Professional musicians like performing.   The day Dawn hangs up her microphone and retires is the day she stops singing.    Until then, any performance which is cancelled would be a disappointment.  I heard her in an interview say she is fortunate to make a living from something she likes doing which is singing.  The performance she has canelled have all been for good reason.

Musician

Her absence is due to the fact that she has had a tumour removed and will have follow up treatment.

Ah, well, hardly to be blamed for wanting to keep it quiet while she deals with it. The last time I saw her she has put on a fair bit of weight. I had wondered then whether that might have been the side effects of a drug regime.

Yes I think so.... I think when you have steroids you put on weight, but I know someone who is being treated for cancer and who has not put on any weight at all.   That may be because the person is just having chemo and no steroids.   I wish Dawn well and her prognosis is good according to her doctors  :D

^ I totally agree with you sir Mirror Image. We must not judge one musician skills just because she cancelled hew show. Like us, she also has a life that she needs to tend to sometime. For me, she is still a great skilled singer/mentor/ music teacher.

I forget about this thread. :) Well Upshaw could hang it up for good and I wouldn't think any less of her because she decided to call it quits. I believe her place in music history is already secured. Her voice and influence on/off the stage have been well documented.

I have a ticket to Dawns next performance in London.
