Just saw this
very positive review of a new recording of
Hartke's The Greater Good (on Naxos), which received many excellent notices when it was produced at Glimmerglass last summer. The libretto is based on a short story by Guy de Maupassant. I have heard some of Hartke's orchestral music, and liked it, so this sounds like it could be a winner.
