agree with the Lubimov recommendations above (don't know Orphée) and would add:

Belcea Quartet Beethoven cycle
Amandine Beyer Bach Sonatas & Partitas, and various other recordings
Lubimov Haydn Seven Last Words on a tangent piano
My top choice too and must have IMO.  There are also some Charpentier/Gerard Lesne which are OOP.  If you can get them...

Thanks everyone!

Rannou is here, as I mentioned (Bach 5 CD set plus Goldbergs, F. Couperin double, Rameau 4 CD set), as for Lesne/Charpentier, the fabulous "Tristes déserts" has been around for a while, the "Italiane baroque" set is at hand, too (as well as the Corelli op. 6), the Akâdemia "Selva morale" by Monteverdi is on the shelves, too ... somehow I'm not too much into Immerseel, but I have the Mozart double with Seiler and some violin sonatas, as well as one more Mozart disc that is part of the 10 years celebration set.

There's too much around already to list it all, but the recommendations so far comprise mostly things I don't yet have, so thanks for that - will take notes and bring them with me when I return to that dangerous place next week (they expect more than 100 spring/summer releases there, from alpha, Hyperion etc.)

Slightly late to the party, but FF Guy's Beethoven cycle and his Liszt CD are worth mentioning.

Also Immerseel's Liszt CD (may be OOP) and his Beethoven symphony cycle if you want another LvB set.

On topic: any general recommendations for Zig Zag releases? I've got some (Rannou's Rameau and Bach for instance) but the local Outhere distributor has plenty left and I wonder if there are any hidden jewels I'm unaware of and that may be there for takers ...

From the suggestions already: and emphatical yes to Immerseel's orchestral Mozart, Lubimov, and the Walther and Westhoff violin discs.

Don't forget Immerseel's Schubert (reissue from Sony)
Also Chiara Banchini and her Ensemble 415 ( Mozart, Geminiani)
Amandine Beyer's recording of Rebel is srongly recommended!  :)
Another strong recommendation: Bach violin sonatas by Rannou & Malgoire.

They've had some nice box sets: (the Jubilee set is a long shot...includes the Rebel)

This has Sciarrino's 2017 vocal work 'Come se un amico.' Has anybody heard this recording?
https://www.amazon.it/Altri-Volti-Nuovi-2-Angius/dp/B0765J3TZN

I have it. It was released for Sciarrino's 70th birthday together with a volume one.

Volume one overall is better imo, but that work - a song based on (better, transfigured from) Chopin's étude in A flat from the Trois nouvelles études - is quite moving.

Indeed, and it reminds me of the CPE Bach by Beyer & Stern, which is a must-have...

I've had the Celebration (Rebel!), Italiane Baroque and CPE Bach by Beyer/Stern for years ... also have some other discs that are part of the Bach & Sons set (at least CD6/7, which are very good - will have to double check and then decide ...) - Malgoire/Rannou and some others I don't have though. (The final set in your post, is on alpha, right? Did you add a wrong pic or was this one of the things still planned by ZZ but then put out on alpha by the new owners? Either way, late ZZ releases are easy to find and I guess often still in print or at least in stock ...)

I had the impression that Alpha is moving all ZZT under Alpha.

Yes - but my question was about older ZZT releases that may still be on the shelves of the local distributor (which of course also has alpha in stock as it's all part of the Outhere group).

Indeed, I was just pointing out it's relation to ZZT releases.
Oh, if you see any Zelenka by Vaclav Luks, grab it.

I think there are only one from those I've heard that I think is very special - the disc that Aymes made of Gesualdo and Maione. This may just be because the recording "opened up" two composers who i find really challenging, so it burnt itself on my memory. I also certainly enjoyed Monteilhet's Piccinini and Visée, Ensemble Organum's Missa Gotica, Marcia Hadjimarkos's Haydn, Machaut and possibly Dufay by Ensemble Musica Nova,  and  Lubimov's late Beethoven.

Machaut and possibly Dufay by Ensemble Musica Nova
For some reason I always thought these were on aeon but I guess they're all owned by the same company now.... so yes if you find the Machaut motets by Musica Nova get that as well, can confirm is a good album, have used excerpts to illustrate presentations/doctoral defences I had to do, A+

so, this is my "look for" list:

Cyril Auvity - Rameau, Clérambault: Orphee
Alexei Lubimov - Schubert: Impromptus
Alexei Lubimov - Beethoven: Sonatas Opp. 109-111
Alexei Lubimov - Haydn Seven Last Words
David Plantier/Les Plaisirs du Parnasse - Von Westhoff: Sonatas For Violin & Continuo
Jos van Immerseel - Mozart: Symphonies 40 & 41
Jos van Immerseel - Liszt (Symphonische Dichtung No. 3 & No.6 etc.)
François-Frédéric Guy - Liszt (Sonata, Harmonies poétiques)
Florence Malgoire/Blandine Rannou - Bach, Sonates pour violon & clavecin obligé
Concerto Soave/Jean-Marc Aymes - Gesualdo/Maione: Tribulationem
and maybe: Bach & Sons box

Many of the other things mentioned I already have, others I'm not in the market for (Beethoven cycles by Guy and Belcea Qt) ... but I wonder about these:

Quote from: Jo498 on February 10, 2018, 06:07:02 AM
Handel chamber music (oboe/violin etc.) anthology
...
Walther: dito "Plaisiers du parnasse" or other fancy titles, maybe there are more I forgot or do not have in my collection

If the Händel is the "Sonatas in several parts", I have that - if it's something else, please point me in the right direction!
Please also point me in the right direction for Walther, I could not find anything, searching for Plantier and Walther (what Walther anyway?) - thanks!

yes, the Handel is the one you mention ASIN: B000OY6ITY
Johann Jakob Walther, Sonatas from Hortus Chelicus. ASIN: B000H0MJ98
Westhoff: Sonatas for violin & b.c. ASIN: B0007DDR1Y

All seem oop and somewhat pricey, another one is Biber: Fidicinium Sacro Profanum
