I'm sorely tempted to add this one to my Franz Schmidt collection:

I already have 2 versions of the oratorio and a few of the symphony, including a copy a friend made me (from youtube) of the Moralt 4th. Moralt's version easily sweeps the board as far as I'm concerned. Mono sound, but good quality (recorded in Vienna's Musikverein). This disc boasts a sound restoration by Lani Spahr - definitely an incentive when it comes to older recordings. As for the Book with Seven Seals, it's a 1962 stereo recording. Sound snippets hint at a terrific performance by Julius Patzak.

Definitely on my list now!
"Courage is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm" (Churchill).

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).
