18 has kind of an I Ching vibe, hasn't it? Is that why you give it an habitual miss?

Well, like everyone else I use the I Ching when compiling my lists of composers, and it's unnerving when I so persistently get that sentence that goes: 'The wise man evades the 18 and embraces the 19 with delight'. It's like treading on the cracks in the pavement. Best just not to do it.

According to my list of 25, my #18 is Dufay, which is completely all right with me
