When I plug my Bose headphones into my old Marantz 2230, I get sound, but the volume knob will not adjust the volume to my headphones. It is just one level of sound. Same for both phono and aux. The volume control works fine without the headphones.

Thanks!

I was going to start in on tachyons and such, but you got there first!

At some weird level, I enjoy audio mysteries.  Here is a thread that I started some time back.  Spent hours tinkering and just having fun with it:

I was going to say "adjust your tolerance level" or "adjust your brain" something to that effect...
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.
