Has anyone purchased the Toscanini's Bruckner 7 yet from Pristine Audio?! Can all the Bruckner and Toscanini experts here please shed some light on this allegedly legendary 'lost' Bruckner?!

Listen to a sample movement over at http://www.pristineclassical.com/LargeWorks/Orchestral/PASC082.php.

It's been discussed in various posts here and there (try using the 'search' function). Basically it's quite straight: dramatic but very singing. Poor sound, but surprisingly detailed (wind and string lines come out very clearly). Small chunks are missing (Coda of I and a bit of IV). These are not cuts, but maybe shellac sides destroyed or too damaged to be used - so it can't be termed 'complete'.

Andrew Rose of Pristine Audio is an excellent restorer of historic recordings. This is definitely as good as it gets when you want to hear this historic document. The chunks of music are missing because the people who recorded it failed to change discs in time. Obviously, nothing can be done about that in restoration. It is still a very valuable audio document.
