Leonardo Vinci 1696-1730 - his Dramma per musica - Artaserse -

is being presented to us on Erato as the one and only Baroque feast I have watched lately and can not praise it enough. This small company Concerto Köln performed it in 2012 at l'Opera national de Lorraine conducted by Diego Fasolis, a splendor in costumes, scenery, direction and incredible amount of fifteen counter tenors. Philip Jaroussky is the new star in the counter tenor world, deservedly. Believe me, dive into the Baroque world, away from the established and mouldy other opera world. I did it, reluctantly at first, but is has found a new advocate. Don't be shy, won't bite you, but provide you new splendor of music and singing artists.
