No problem .. Stockhausen ran his own successful recording label (Stockhausen-Verlag) and oversaw the production of all his albums (i.e. mixdown, performance, recording, liner notes etc). It's really hard to top .. hit the link below, once there hit any album cover desired (over 100 titles to choose from) and you can hear samples. The material is very diverse, so have fun .. all the best ..

I still haven't really explored much of Stockhausen, but came across this site I believe from James a long while ago, it's very impressive and I spent much time going through the discs and samples, like is said its impressive.

When it came to Holmboe I dived into the complete symphonies (6 discs).  But if you were going to pick one as an introduction I'd probably aim for:

[asin]B000JVCN8M[/asin] [asin]B0000016JI[/asin]

Partly because it combines two of the early symphonies with a late one. PS There are two different links, for some reason only one is creating an image.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

Mr. Stevens Senior

This is an incredible thread.  Didn't know half these composers!  Thanks everybody.
