the German / Austrian music scene, 1918-1938

What are your favorite works from this period? As far as I'm concerned, the composers don't have to have been German or Austrian, as long as the works were performed in Germany or Austria and would have been known in, say, the cafes of Vienna.

For now, I'll go with Weill's "The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny" and "The Threepenny Opera" as my favorites, along with Berg's "Wozzeck," "Lyric Suite," and Violin Concerto; Hindemith's "Mathis der Maler," Bartok's "The Miraculous Mandarin," and Korngold's "Die tote Stadt."
