Apparently was on YouTube at one time.  I heard Hillary really turned the tables on him when he tried to get nasty?

I would love to see this, because guys like Lebrecht give classical journalism a bad name.

yeah, he's basically the Jerry Springer Show of classical music - low-grade moron - look at his comments about Mozart   ::)

It seems to be unavailable in any of the usual places.

This photo - apparently of Hilary during the interview - might give you some idea of how it went

In a fit of madness I borrowed Lebrecht's book on conductors for the library last week.  Astonishing.  I get the impression he wasn't overwhelmed by Karajan for some reason.

You should see what he wrote about Michael Tippett. The guy is an absolute quack.

In an ecosystem we need quacks to nurture swans. Just sayin'.

On his prelude to the interview, he calls her "one of the most self-obsessed artists he's ever encountered" - they deleted a lot of the reader responses telling him she took the interview away from him, heh heh.

She has her faults like anyone else, but she's always come across as a person with a pleasant personality, nice manners.  No 'star trip' ... yet.

No, he wrote "one of the most self-possessed artists I have ever encountered."
