Oh, and... no Saul?

He's no longer a member, and thus not qualified to compete. A pity  :D

Not bad choices at all, particularly Tales From the Vienna Woods.  I do rather like Roses from the South and the Waltz of the Flowers though.  :)

Watching the Olympics towards the end, at the rhythmic gymnastics, some composers did feature.  If I remember right pieces by Beethoven (Moonlight Sonata), Rossini (Figaro aria) and Tchaikovsky (1812 Overture) were used.  I suppose it's the equivalent to the ice skating in the Winter Olympics where music is used as well.

Piano Concertos

GOLD - Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto No.2 in C minor, Op.18 (Zimerman/Ozawa - Deutsche Grammophon)
SILVER - Grieg - Piano Concerto in A minor, Op.16 (Radu Lupu/Previn - Decca Legends)
BRONZE - Mozart - Piano Concerto No.20 in D minor K.466 (Uchida/Tate - Philips Classics)
2nd BRONZE - Beethoven - Piano Concerto No.4 in G Major, Op.58 (Berezovsky/Dausgaard - Simax or Sudbin/Vanska - BIS)

For the other categories things are much more complicated. For the symphonies the dispute is between Mahler, Bruckner, Sibelius and probably Dvorak. For sonatas (piano/violin), Beethoven with his No.21 'Waldstein' (Arrau/Sir Colin Davis - Philips Classics) and Enescu with his Sonata for Violin & Piano No.3, Op.25 "In the Rumanian folk character" (Leonidas Kavakos, Péter Nagy - ECM or Adelina & Justin Oprean - Hyperion) are the main contenders. For piano solo, Chopin (Nelson Freire - Decca) and Debussy (Jean Efflam Bavouzet - Chandos) are the nominees. For the violin concertos, Brahms (Shaham, Abbado - Deutsche Grammophon), Tchaikovsky (Jascha Heifetz - RCA Red Seal), Sibelius (V. Mullova, S. Ozawa - Philips Classics), Bruch and Korngold are in a very balanced fight. For opera.. damn. Things get really nasty here.. I have to add that I totally dislike chamber music - the exceptions are extremely few and not worthy of being mentioned).

P.S. And I must make room for some special works like Verdi's Messa da Requiem (Harteros, Ganassi, Villazon, Pape - Pappano - EMI Classics), Rachmaninov's All-Night Vigil (Paul Hillier, EPCC - Harmonia Mundi), Enescu's Romanian Rhapsody No.1 (Eiji Oue, Minnesota Orchestra - Reference Recordings), Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue (Ivan Davis/Lorin Maazel - Decca) and Porgy and Bess (Antal Dorati - Decca), Bach's Suites for Solo Cello (Torleif Thedéen - Grammophon AB Bis or Zuill Bailey - Telarc or Jean-Guihen Queyras - Harmonia Mundi; I have all of them and cannot decide upon one), Holst's Planets (Z. Mehta - Decca), Elgar's Enigma Variations (can't remember what's my favorite recording)...
