There are still some cheap (incorrect?) prices on Amazon today - the vendor is i-Deals Store and they are normally pretty reliable.
I just ordered a box for $2.
I read that you purchased quite a few items from them MI - I hope they make good on your sales but if I am being honest I will be very suprised if they do as it is clearly a mistake.
Anyway I am going to try buying a couple of items today and if they honour the purchases then that will be a bonus :)

They should be able to correct pricing errors quite quickly.

I'm sure you think that will be what Amazon will do, but there have been countless times where an Amazon marketplace seller has refunded costs and done so without causing themselves much harm.  You may think you'll get the items you ordered, but believe me when I say I don't think so.  The backlash won't be as strong as you think.

I think you're being too skeptical, jo jo as we don't know really how many caught this error. I have dealt with Amazon personally and maybe you just don't know how to talk to them, but I got what I wanted in the end. I personally feel that this MP seller will be wise to ship everyone's orders who bought from them during this time. Amazon can easily cut them off from selling on their site just like they did with Caiman (don't know if you remember them).

^^I ordered a couple of the cheap boxes from i-Deals store this morning but I just had second thoughts and cancelled the orders - something clearly is'nt right and I dont want these guys having my Credit Card details at the moment!. Be careful Guys :)

Does the payment have to go through Amazon first?  You registered your CC with Amazon, not with the individual MP sellers ...

Well the amounts they debited already show up on my bank statement and are pending. I don't think this is a security but rather someone who has clearly fallen asleep at the wheel in entering correct information into their database.

This is correct. You pay Amazon and Amazon pays the MP sellers.

This. And it would be ballsy to pull a CC scam through another company.

BTW, it's back.

Some of my Wish LIst items are back to a $1

Correct and Amazon would crush them in court. :)

I've noticed many of their products are appearing again through viewing their inventory. My only question is what the hell happened last night?

At $1 a CD, the MP seller is losing a bundle for sure.  Well, this is the dark side of instant price change update.

Yes, they'll just have to carry on and I'm sure they'll do fine. As I said, they are one of the top 5 sellers on Amazon in regards to CDs, DVDs, and Blurays.

^^ Well good luck guys and I sincerely hope you get your orders but Im going to opt out of this one just to be on the safe side :)

I seriously doubt the MP seller can or will scam you.  There were clearly some errors when someone at the seller updated its prices ...

And I'm sure somebody got fired that night for sure. :D I do believe this seller to be an honest seller and I haven't had any problems with them other than something needing to be sent back or whatever. They've always been cordial and professional in their communication.

But the prices have just returned for a second time so maybe this is intentional.

It certainly makes me wonder, Greg. :-\

But which CD are you referring to?  I certainly have not been watching the Amazon prices like a hawk ...

There are many items that still remain $1. I couldn't give you a specific recording as now it seems that only certain recordings are a $1 while others have returned to their standard price through the seller. There's still many recordings that say "current unavailable" through their storefront.

I always keep about a dozen or so discs in my Amazon wish list, last night is when I noticed that some were $1, well that changed over night and those deals were gone, as if they didn't exist, now that $1 MP sale is back on some of them.

And I am an Amazon junky, not just with music, but with everything, and now that I have a kid I'm buying him stuff on Amazon all the time, you have to watch for their "deal of the day" and "Lightning Deals", I'll admit there are scenarios where I'm buying things I don't really need but become seduced by the savings.  :)
