Mozart's Great Mass in C minor, K.427

Hi, I'm looking for other recommendations of Mozart's Great Mass in C minor, K.427.   In particular, any outstanding hair raising solo soprano performances in the opening Kyrie.

I really love the Sir Colin Davis 1971 recording, with the London Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, Helen Donath and Heather Harper as sopranos, Ryland Davies as tenor and Stafford Dean as bass.

I like the Davis recording, too.
In that period, he delivered three 'mandatory' 18th century choral recordings: Mozart's Requiem and C-minor Mass, and Händel's Messiah.

For other recordings of KV 427, the first that comes to mind is Gardiner (recorded for Philips). Excellent singing and playing.
Like Davis (IMO), the dramatic 'Qui tollis' is the highlight of the recording. The Sanctus is a certain goose bump for me, too. The female soloists (Sylvia McNair and Diana Montague) are heavenly.

Ooooh, thank you for the recommendations, Marc!    You totally had me with 'dark' and Philippe Herreweghe!  I love his Bruckner F minor Mass recording.
