Standing on that side of that very bridge a few years ago an American couple asked me what sea they were looking at.

One of the friends I was with...there were eight of us celebrating my wife's birthday in style with sparkly wine out of Venetian glasses, snorted the juice down his nose and left me to try to explain it without taking the Mick out of them.

I'd have loved to witness that. 

Also you guys....you are babies, it is just not fair. I am old enough to have fathered any of you! (Though I did not and I am sure you all have the fathers you deserve. My sole son certainly has; for bad and for good.)

Here's a couple of pics from when I went to Kentucky. My sister just decided to upload them on facebook, so now I have 2 of them.


Left- me; Middle- sister; Right- dad.
This is the big clock in Somerset, which gets really loud whenever a new hour strikes.


The two below are my sister's daughters (my nieces)- even though they look barely younger, or almost the same age (I'm only about 6 or 7 years older than them, I think). They like to take pictures, so that's pretty much all we did  . There really isn't anything to do in Somerset...

30... probably almost 31, or maybe 31 by now. I don't know- saw her 4 years before that, and who knows however many years before that. I used to see my dad much more before he moved to Kentucky (then it went from a 2 hour drive to a 12 hour drive to see him).
