Netflix - iMac

Seeking the help of some computer knowledge, specifically iMac and Netflix. Lately in Safari my Netflix has taken a long time to load the images of the films, and when I say long time, I'm talking 30 minutes, sometimes they all don't even show up. This makes it difficult to even see the titles and when I so click on one it takes a while to stream the film. It seems to be getting worse and I have no clue why it's been acting this way. Here's an image of what it looks like...

I have a Macbook Air and it loads almost instantly.  Here are my suggestions:

1. Clear your cache.
2. Install another browser, e.g. chrome. 
3. Reset your modem.
4. Try again on a different computer/phone/tablet on the same network.

If 2 fixes your problem, then it is Safari.  Not likely I find Safari to be very fast and responsive, but it's worth checking out.
If 3 fixes your problem it is a now fixed network problem.
For 4: if you don't get that problem on another computer on the same network, it's your imac.  But if you do get the problem on another computer then it's your network.

You notice that I didn't say that netflix could be the culprit... that is because it loads fine for me.

Thank you, David, for your response. But here's another one, Netflix won't play on my Chrome browser  :-\
I haven't tried any of your suggestions yet, but I did attempt it on Chrome.

Edit: In fact it won't even open the home page om Chrome.

Try resetting your modem.

It would really help if you really knew that it wasn't your computer.  If you had either another computer to test on your home network, or you can lug your imac into work to test it on their network it would help.

Because if it is your network, you can call customer support for your isp and they can hopefully resolve the problem.  But if it is your imac and not your network then you need to go to an apple store.  But you need more information before you know who to call.

I suggest if you don't have any other computers, ask a friend to come with his laptop so you can test it on his laptop on your network.

btw my impression is that your isp is blocking netflix.  I know that comcast throttles them.

btw you might want to also watch http://downrightnow.com/netflix to make sure that netflix itself isn't down (which happens more often of late).  Right now netflix is up.

I have Comcast, and these Netflix issues have been going on for a while. I'll use your suggestions and do some testing.

For the past year if I know I want to watch Netflix I normally go to the page and let it load for a while. Like warming up an iron, sucks.

ATT blocks Netflix sometimes too.

Greg, I know Netflix wasn't working on my computer for awhile.  Using Firefox instead of Internet Explorer as a browser for Netflix fixed the problem!  :)
