Sharing this very poignant story from The New York Times today.

Harsh Light Falls on Bolshoi After Acid Attack

Moscow awoke to the horrifying news on Friday that a masked man had thrown acid on Sergei Filin, the artistic director of one of the city's jewels, the Bolshoi Ballet.

Lis, I did wonder whether this was a political or professional rivalry issue. I know nothing about it other than, now, what is in the article. That seems to be quite certain this is the action of a rival or was committed through an opposing faction in the theatre. But what did not surprise me is that this has happened in Russia. When the man at the top sets the tone in such a sinister way, nothing is impossible and many evils become all too likely.

I wasted time: and time wasted me.

I just read this article and I'm quite displeased that such immaturity and hate-mongering are still in existence in the arts. This 'masked man' should be locked up behind bars for the rest of his life.

Unbelievable!!  Very sad to hear about such an awful thing.  And ditto what John expressed.  What a shame that people do things like this.  >:D

Acts like this, regardless of cause, just numb the senses, Mike. :(
