Hello All!

I know less about classical music than I do about the Tibetan Parliament, so brace yourself for another round of silly questions!

Hopefully I'll be able to understand what you are saying, at least some of the time, but another forum I visited described music the way connoisseurs describe wine and I kept getting thirsty...

By the way MODS, if you're short of new members, it might be because the CAPCHA system thinks it's still 2012. I was refused entry when I filled in 2013.  ;D I see it's the same after this post, also.

Have a great day!

Hi huntsman, and welcome from NYC. I've actually been to Johannesburg (briefly); you live in a beautiful city. And many thanks for the info on the CAPCHA glitch, which I'll forward to Rob, the forum's creator. (PS, your first post had to be approved by a moderator - another spam protector - but now you should be able to post everywhere here without any further moats or drawbridges.  8))

Anyway, have a good time - and we'll discuss the Tibetan Parliament later.  ;D

Hi Huntsman - welcome to the GMG forum - hope that you enjoy! :)

BTW, I just streamed a film called Searching for Sugar Man about the musician/singer/song writer Rodriguez from Detroit, MI - his recent rediscovery was mainly due to several South Africans - apparently a popular artist there?

Hello, and welcome here, huntsman!

I, for one, know nothing at all about the Tibetan Parliament (of if there is such an institution at all), I am always ready for edification.
By the way, I had the same problem when registering, but I quite forgot to report it once I got through.

Anyway, have a good time!

I believe somebody here at GMG just recently compared Bruckner's music to farts.  :P  ;D

Welcome to the forum and have a nice time here. :)
Glad to see you've listened to Wagner, he's my favourite composer!

Welcome! Should you get parched or hungary, just head on over to 'what are you eating' or the wine thread! :)  On a serious note, I was just thinking about starting a thread on the Tibetan Parliament, but now that we have an expert, I'll leave it to you! :)

Should anything confuse you, just ask. We have all sorts here with varied backgrounds, so I'm sure there will be others who had the same question. Enjoy!
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Great to have somebody from South Africa!  Many moons ago I had a student whose family had emigrated from Johannesburg to Ohio.  Nice little chap...

He would be c. 50 years old now!

And anybody named Huntsman must know about...

Welcome! And you're one up on me: I had no idea there was a Parliament in Tibet . . . .

Hello huntsman, you sound like a good old nutcase, so you will be at home here, and we could do with real African perspective at last.  Keep coming back!   ;D
