Bruckner: Haas vs Nowak

So, I'm spending this week listening to Bruckner and I discovered the various editing of his symphonies. As someone less experienced with classical music than you, I was wondering what differences there are between the two versions. Is one more popular than the other? Does it matter if I want to buy a Bruckner cycle?

I wouldn't worry too much about Haas vs. Nowak.  Where you're going to notice a big difference are "original" versions of the 3rd, 4th and 8th, or "corrupt" editions like the old Schalk 5th (rare on recordings).  Bruckner's later revisions tend to be preferable.
