Yes, very, very slow here this evening also.

Best time for me to login is early morning which seems to be the worst, in fact impossible. On the other hand typing this mid-morning which is fine. Not convenient though.
You must have a very good opinion of yourself to write a symphony - John Ireland.

I opened the door people rushed through and I was left holding the knob - Bo Diddley.

Fantastic recording, but my one bugbear about it is the placing of the soloists in Part I. You can hardly hear the tenor. It seems like they're standing single-file in a queue and the tenor is at the back.

Kontrapunctus

Vibrant playing and excellent sound.

As always, a blast. This is an uncommonly polished performance. Soloists, chorus, orchestra are on their best behaviour. The sense of fun and gaudiness is not absent, but one feels the respect and devotion that went into this recording. This disc was given to me by our late Lisbeth, one of GMG's great souls  0:). She insisted I didn't know Carmina Burana if I didn't have this one in my collection.

Disc 5, with the 4 Sinfonias in the chronological order. Great, superb, excellent.

Crux of the matter: Guridi: the unihibited, sincere sentimentalist with a tear in his eye. Amen! and  right up my alley!)

Alll works on this disc are colorfullly orchestrated and a joy to hear but the Fantasy for Cello and Orchestra takes pride of place ---- the first part an extended, longwinded cantilena that will melt your heart, the second part a happy-go-lucky romp in which the piano joins the cello and the very finale is as exhilarating as anything similar by Haydn.

I'm really jealous, actually (bolded text)  :)

Not sure if I'll have that experience someday.

And to make it worse the composer was there and I got his autograph!
I hope that you do get to hear the work live one day Cesar.

Guridi is probably the best of them all (the Claves Basque composer series you own, I mean); the Diez meliodias vascas nothing less than a miniature master piece. #congrats  ;D

That Rabin set is already $188 on Amazon.   :o

I just purchased it last week, new ,53 euros. You have to be lucky sometimes.I was looking for it for a long time. ;)

There is an older set,two fat boxes in a slibcase, for that one you have to double the price.
