Just in:

Awesome - surpassing all my expectations.....the instrument as well as the playing.
But the combination of the two shows how much an appropriate instrument  (Brahms played a similar J.B. Streicher) does for the music, and the close relation between the two.
OK, I'm going to say it: it's revelatory, nothing less.... ::)

This Fantasie Op 17 - WOW. Only performance I can remember liking this much, on first listen, is Fiorentino's. Gortler is boldly lyrical in a way that really helps me rethink what this piece can be.

Listening to Symphony No. 4, "Requiem," Op. 34. This symphony was written in memory of Hanson's father and it's emotional impact is surely felt by me. Gorgeous.
