Ok, my friend. I'll also check that recording out too!  8)

Another nut suggests: Skip Rattle and Harding and check out one of these:
Gustav Mahler – Symphony No.10 (Part 2)

(Barshai, Gielen, Chailly, Wheeler...)

Actually, Harding is not terrible at all; when I actually listen to it, it's better than I think, but somehow I'm not drawn to it.

I heard that combo live in Frankfurt before a recording was released. Impressive live but the reviews of the CD I read subsequently were not enthusiastic so I skipped it. Maybe I should reconsider. (I'm not a Rattle 10 fan either but his Berlin 10 is the better performance.)
When listening to the Mahler symphonies I heard versions of the 10th by Harding, Rattle/Berlin and Nezet-Séguin. I chose Harding because it was the only performance that made sense to me. I can imagine potentially better performances, but don't listen to Mahler enough to actively look for them. >_>

A sequence of harpsichord suites by Froberger played by Simone Stella, FbWV 653 - 656: nice music which I've never heard before, maybe never recorded before. The harpsichord sounds OK but not special IMO, but when he uses the lute stop it's real nice; Stella's style is sweet and straightforward and peaceful, linear, not at all turbulent, and that works fine for me in this music, it's perfectly listenable, sometimes more than that.  For someone who's serious about Froberger, these four suites are well worth hearing. Recording quality is totally unobjectionable.

A fine female composer and on top of my all time list.
I adore her and her music, I admit without blushes! ;D
Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

The Reincken is also a top recommendation from me. One of the best sets he ever produced.

And since we are into Frobergers music, it was my first disc this morning that landed in my player. CD 4 from the box. Constant excellence I call this.

Not a CD I wish to listen to again. The music is good, but anaemic playing and sound recording kills the message for me.

Yes, and of music by a virtually unknown composer - at least unknown to me.
