Geirr TveittPiano Concerto No.5
Que's point about Mozart and Coffee is a good one, so I grabbed the first Mozart disc that I could find among the piles of CDs strewn about. Wasn't as easy as I thought... and after a few minutes of searching it turned out to be this one:WAM + Michael HaydnDuo Sonatas Rachel Podger & Jane RogersChannel Classics SACDGerman link - UK link
Wimpy Sarge
Haydn Symphony #3 G major, Goodman conducting the Hanover BandSarge
Mine should be arriving in a week or so!
Compared to Goodman's Third, it is pretty wimpy...okay, polite Goodman is more robust, exciting. Prefer the sound of his violins too. Goodman's harpischord in the first movement is damned annoying though. Sounds like a six-year-old having a temper tantrum, banging on the instrument like a maniac. I think it's time to invest in Fischer.Sarge
After the violence of the fifth of Prokofiev some Mozart.CD 15.Symphony No. 39 in mi bemolle maggiore.No. 40 in sol minore ( prima versione).
As you kknow, I have been enjoying the first five from Fischer. No tantrums, just good music.
Violence? Well these two are surely two of Wolfie's war horses, Harry.
I'm happy with the Fischer I do have (21-39 and 55-81). Ordering 1-20 seems sensible Sarge
Sure, but compared to Prokofiev, the works are tame bears. The Andante, second movement of No. 40, is a soft ripple on the surface and rather soothing.
There is no uncool Bach recording. None.
What about BWV 565 arranged for graphing calculator orchestra?
