Pounds the table and chugs another glass of vodka. I can attest to this recording being outstanding. Both the Symphony No. 5 (Concerto Grosso No. 4) and Concerto Grosso No. 3 get super-duper performances. Enjoy! 8)

I didn't enjoy this one at all. For me, it all felt a lackluster and not completely inline with what I like to hear in Bartok's music, but, as they say, YMMV.

Given that I just ordered a decent haul, I didn't need anything else, but something told me to peruse various Amazons for one of the fifteen or sixteen* complete LvB sonata cycles I don't own, and sure enough, Amazon Germany stocks Robert Benz's cycle.  Cycle 87 is on its way.

* The final number is dependent on whether Paul Badura Skoda did in fact record an early cycle for Westminster, as his site states

Have you heard Isabelle Faust?  Excellent performance', I think.  I'm not a fan of the unpleasant straight tone she uses in some of her recordings of Classical rep, but that doesn't crop up here.

I own, and love, Isabelle Faust's recording of both of Bartok's concerti (w/ Daniel Harding conducting the Swedish RSO). 8)

I cannot seem to find the Kissin set on any of the amazons. Where did you purchase it?

I heard an extremely fine Liszt programme in concert by Kissin around 5 yearas ago and have little by him on disc..

I ordered today this box and a single CD, both very much to my liking.
Ordering music makes me feel better.

Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.
