I didn't enjoy this one at all. For me, it all felt a lackluster and not completely inline with what I like to hear in Bartok's music, but, as they say, YMMV.

Given that I just ordered a decent haul, I didn't need anything else, but something told me to peruse various Amazons for one of the fifteen or sixteen* complete LvB sonata cycles I don't own, and sure enough, Amazon Germany stocks Robert Benz's cycle.  Cycle 87 is on its way.


* The final number is dependent on whether Paul Badura Skoda did in fact record an early cycle for Westminster, as his site states

Have you heard Isabelle Faust?  Excellent performance', I think.  I'm not a fan of the unpleasant straight tone she uses in some of her recordings of Classical rep, but that doesn't crop up here.
